A judge has blocked the city's request for access to footage from a documentary on the Central Park jogger rape case.

Filmmaker Ken Burns has been fighting the city's subpoena for outtakes from 'The Central Park Five" for more than a year.

The Bloomberg administration intended to use the material in connection with a legal battle between the men exonerated in the case and the city.

A federal judge said Tuesday that concerns over freedom of the press trumped the city's case.

Burns called the ruling a victory for journalists and filmmakers.

The city maintains that the film is not journalism, but a one-sided piece of advocacy.

City law officials said they're reviewing legal options.
