An NYPD sergeant was arrested Monday and arraigned Tuesday for allegedly having child pornography on his computer.
Alberto Randazzo, 36, was suspended without pay, pending the outcome of a criminal proceeding.
The Queens District Attorney's office says that Sgt. Randazzo was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court Tuesday on a criminal complaint that charges Randazzo with 11 counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, 23 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 23 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Sources tell NY1 that the sergeant lives in Queens and has been on the force 15 years.
According to the Queens DA's office, it is alleged that images of an adult female with an infant were found on a personal computer that belongs to Randazzo.
Randazzo allegedly directed a female to perform certain sex acts on an infant during cyber chat video sessions, according to the Queens DA's office.
In addition, the criminal complaint alleges that two videos of a girl between 8 and 10 years of age performing sexual acts on an adult male were found on Randazzo's computer.
If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
Bail was set at $40,000 bond or $20,000 cash.
Randazzo's next court date is March 5.
