A Staten Island woman who was a passenger on that disabled cruise ship is speaking out about her experience and says she plans to sue.

Trina Briggs, her daughter, son-in-law and 8-year-old granddaughter were on the fourth floor deck of the Carnival Triumph for four days.

She says there no was power, running water or working toilets.

Briggs says Carnival offered her a free cruise and $500 but she is not taking it.

"It was a slap in the face," said Briggs. "You can have the money. You took our dignity."

Briggs says this was her first and last cruise.

Meanwhile, the engine-room fire that left the ship stranded at sea for five days was apparently caused by a leak in a fuel oil return line.

A U.S. Coast Guard official revealed the cause in a teleconference Monday.

She said the Bahamas are leading a comprehensive investigation of the ship, with the Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board representing the U.S. in the probe.

Investigators are already looking over the liner and interviewing passengers and crew.

The official estimated the investigation will take six months to complete.
