Fashion Week favorites Carolina Herrera and Badgley Mischka offer uber-elegance in their fall 2013 collections, based off of classical music and cinema. NY1's Arts reporter Stephanie Simon filed the following report.

For the ladies who clamor for glamour, has the belt ever looked better? Designer Carolina Herrera goes waste-deep into sexy silhouettes for fall.

"You saw that the collection, exactly how you should have seen it. Tiny, tiny waist, a treatment in the shoulders and a movement in the skirts in a very seductive way," Herrera says.

The ultra-luxurious looks are inspired by a Beethoven sonata reconfigured in honor of Herrera.

"I started in very light-colored clothes and then it went like a crescendo, like in a concert, and then it was all the drama, romance," Herrera says.

New mother, model and actor Molly Sims enjoys every opulent note.

"I find as a mom, you've got to get out of these yoga clothes. Like, don't be that person, like get out and get dressed and put something on fabulous," Sims says. "And getting to wear beautiful things and being able to borrow them for even an hour, you really do feel like a princess sometimes."

From the sweet sounds of Carolina Herrera, one moves over to the Badgley Mischka show, where Marc Badgley and James Mischka always make beautiful music together.

This season, that music is more of a movie soundtrack. The designers were inspired by the leading ladies in Alfred Hitchcock films, including Grace Kelly. But instead of looking through a "rear window," customers feast their eyes on sumptuous, almost sinister silhouettes.

"The collection starts off in a very film noir way in terms of the color palette, very black and white and cinematic," Badgley says. "Then the dirty metallics creep in and then we always have a couple of accent colors like blood reds that flirt their way in throughout the collection."

Badgley Mischka is opening a flagship store on Madison Avenue this spring, so be ready to be spellbound all year round.
