Funeral services were held Wednesday in Queens for a police officer who died of a heart attack during a drug bust.

Officer Patrick Divers began feeling chest pains and then went into convulsions while on duty in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Friday.

During a mass at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, the fallen officer was praised for his distinguished career.

"Twenty-six years in service to the NYPD, still in the street, and not just in the street but in narcotics, one of the most dangerous jobs that exists in the NYPD," said Ed Mullins, president of the Sergeants' Benevolent Association. "He was there. And we all know there's a major drug problem across the country, and he's working here in Brooklyn. It just, overwhelmed. I can't say enough good things about him."

Divers made more than 1,000 arrests in his career, earning 35 recognitions for Excellent and Meritorious Police Duty.

He leaves behind a wife and two children.
