The Giants cut veteran running back Ahmad Bradshaw Wednesday in an effort to create space under the salary cap.
Bradshaw spent six seasons with the Giants and was an integral part of two Super Bowl teams.
The 26-year-old is sixth on the team's all-time rushing list.
Bradshaw had a hard time staying healthy throughout his tenure with the Giants. He recently had surgery on his right foot.
Last year's first-round draft pick, David Wilson, is expected to become the starting halfback next season.
The team also cut defensive lineman Chris Canty Wednesday.
The two cuts came a day after they also released linebacker Michael Boley.
