Sources tell NY1 that Mayor Michael Bloomberg will deliver the eulogy at Mayor Ed Koch's funeral on Monday at Temple Emanu-El on the Upper East Side.
NY1 has also learned that former President Bill Clinton is expected to speak, along with Koch's relatives, the Israeli consul general in New York and Koch's longtime chief of staff and close friend, Diane Coffey.
The ceremony will wrap up with a rendition of the song "New York, New York".
Koch died of congestive heart failure Friday morning.
With the death of former mayor Ed Koch, a long tradition came to an end: his regular Saturday lunches with old friends. The group met again Saturday, this time to toast the mayor.
The 88-year-old served as mayor from 1978 to 1989 after spending time in the City Council and the U.S. House of Representatives. He is credited with helping to pull the city out of the fiscal crisis of the 1970s and overseeing major economic and housing reforms.
Koch because famous all over the country for his love of the city, outspoken nature and colorful personality.
He stayed in the public eye even after leaving office.
He wrote several books, campaigned for candidates and appeared weekly as part of the NY1 Wise Guys.
The former mayor saw his health deteriorate in recent years.
He was in and out of the hospital over the last few months.
