A Queens man accused of shooting his girlfriend's mother to death in the city's first homicide of 2013 is back in New York after being caught in Ohio.
Police say Raymond Mayrant, 25, was captured on January 11 near Cleveland.
He was brought back to the city Friday and is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder and criminal weapons possession.
Investigators say Mayrant and his 22-year-old girlfriend got into an argument inside a Bronx apartment on January 3.
They say the woman's mother, Elzina Brown, 59, stepped in to defend her and was shot and killed by Mayrant.
They say he also shot his girlfriend, but she survived.
