A Queens mom whose 7-year-old son showed up to school with a gun has been arraigned on weapons charges.

Deborah Farley, 53, is also charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police say her son, a second grader at Wave Preparatory Elementary School in Far Rockaway, was found with a .22 caliber handgun and extra bullets in his bookbag on Thursday.

The Queens District Attorney's office says Farley told police she bought the gun because she felt she needed protection in her neighborhood, put the gun in her son's backpack and then forgot about it.

The incident forced a lockdown at the school.

Police say Farley's son also had a flare gun, which he gave to another student.

Farley is being held on $35,000 bail.

She'll reappear in court on February 6.
