A Metropolitan Transportation Authority executive has been demoted after allegedly misusing company equipment after Sandy.
Sources tell NY1 an MTA investigation revealed Gregory Lombardi had two transit employees load up an agency generator in order to take it to his Long Island home after Hurricane Sandy.
NY1 is told he has been bumped down to supervisor and had his salary cut in half.
Lombardi was the assistant chief mechanical officer in charge of the repair and upkeep of the entire fleet of subway cars.
Sources say the two employees who helped Lombardi are also being disciplined.
