A Brooklyn store owner is struggling to get his French pastry shop back up and running as he waits for federal aid.

The Almondine Bakery in DUMBO suffered about $200,000 in damages from Sandy.

More than eight feet of water rushed into the storefront and destroyed all of the kitchen equipment in the basement area.

Owner Herve Poussot was approved for $425,000 in relief aid, but hasn't received any of the money.

"I am pre-approved since December so I was expecting that it's going to come pretty quick now, but every time you know you bring some paper they say it's okay and two or three days later they ask you more and more. I mean it's very frustrating," Poussot said.

Poussot was forced to close the bakery's other location in Park Slope because he could not pay the rent.

In the meantime, he's hoping to reopen the DUMBO shop by next month.

The landlord has agreed to forgo rent payments for the next few months to help Poussot get back on his feet.
