Senator Chuck Schumer announced Thursday that eBay and Craigslist have agreed to stop ticket re-sellers from selling inauguration passes on their web sites.

Schumer serves on the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

Tickets were going for as much as $2,000.

It's not illegal to sell them, but inauguration tickets that people get from members of Congress are supposed to be free.

President Barack Obama will take the oath of office at the White House on Sunday.

A bigger, ceremonial swearing-in and inaugural address will take place Monday at the Capitol.
