City residents are "treecycling" this weekend at the 17th annual Mulchfest.

Christmas trees can be brought to one of more than 80 sites across the city to be turned into mulch.

In Queens, residents dropped off their trees at Astoria Park and some took home a bag of mulch to put back into nature.

"I actually came back to get mulch because there are some new street trees that they planted," Astoria resident Maria Kollaros said. "They cut down a lot of the bigger oaks and and, you know, just to take care of them, add mulch in there and make sure they last a while."

The next window to drop off your tree will be Sunday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
