Hurricane Sandy victims who lost power after Sandy can now get a break on their bills from their utility company.

The New York State Public Service Commission approved a request from six utility companies.

Consolidated Edison will give back $6.5 million.

Residential customers in Manhattan will get a $3 rebate, while customers elsewhere in the city will get $6.

The utilities must also suspend late charges for significantly impacted customers through January.

The Long Island Power Authority isn't regulated by the PSC, but is considering $7.3 million in service credits, about $5 per customer.

LIPA, which serves the Rockaways, has already decided against pursuing $3.5 million in late payments.

Sandy knocked out power to 2.1 million customers.
