With the impact of Hurricane Sandy still being felt across our area, NY1 and its parent company, Time Warner Cable, has launched the "Holiday Hopes and Happenings" food drive.
City Harvest distributed 6 million pounds of food to New Yorkers following Hurricane Sandy and wants to distribute another 125,000 pounds each day for the rest of the year.
"City Harvest is looking for what we call shelf-stable food, like Paramat milk, various kinds of canned goods, dry food, cereal," said Susan Fowler of City Harvest. "And also, we're helping distribute things like adult diapers, baby diapers, baby formula."
