State Senator Martin Golden called a town hall meeting Tuesday for Hurricane Sandy victims in Brooklyn.

The meeting was held in Gerritsen Beach.

FEMA and several state agencies, including the health and buildings departments, were on hand to answer residents' questions about topics like mold and how to handle their insurance companies.

Many displaced locals just wanted to know when they could go back home.

"My house got flooded and I lost my car, and I'm not living in my home," said one resident. "I have to find another place to live."

"There's an awful lot of people angry," Golden said. "It's freezing out, right? You have no boilers hooked up. You have no hot water system. In certain cases, you have no electricity. So there is an expectation and those expectations aren't being met."

Golden said representatives from the city's Rapid Repairs program were also invited but did not show.

The senator told flood victims in attendance that Rapid Repairs is working on 145 homes in the area.

The city program has already restored services to 800 housing units citywide, 125 in the Gerritsen Beach area alone.

Rapid Repairs did not return a call from NY1 for comment.
