A new ice skating rink is opening in Battery Park City as Lower Manhattan continues to bounce back after Hurricane Sandy.
The Liberty View Rink offers sweeping views of the water and the Statue of Liberty.
It's set to officially open in a few days, but people are already being allowed to skate.
Just a few weeks ago, the lawn where the rink sits was under water.
"It's kind of like a beam of brightness," said Matthew Monahan, the vice president of New York's Battery Park City. "It's not going to bring everything back, but it just shows that New York is here, we're coming back, that there's some nice thing that you can do for a really affordable price. Just come down and enjoy yourself as New York gets back into business."
The rink will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and skates will be available for rental.
Entrance fees will be $7 for kids 12 and under and $15 for adults.
