A Brooklyn woman who donated to the Red Cross, but got thousands of dollars in return by mistake, and was trying to give it back, finally got the issue resolved.

Linda Donovan said the Red Cross finally managed to get in touch with her and has taken care of the problem.

Donovan made a $100 donation after Sandy hit, but later found the organization accidentally deposited almost $5,000 into her bank account.

Calls and emails got her nowhere for weeks, so Donovan called NY1 and NY1 called the Red Cross.

The Red Cross said it has raised almost $170 million for storm relief efforts.

It described Donovan's case as an isolated incident.
