The New York Mets held a press conference Wednesday officially welcoming back their longtime veteran third baseman David Wright.

Wright signed a $122 million contract that will keep him with the team through 2020.

Wright said once General Manager Sandy Alderson visited him in Virginia, the thought of going to another team never even crossed his mind.

"After I heard the conviction, the plan moving forward," Wright said, "I was all in."

With contract negotiations over, Wright said he's ready to get back to baseball.

"Things haven't gone the way we've liked to," he said. "But that's going to change."

The Mets continue to negotiate contract details with Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey.
