Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott stopped at P.S. 203 in Oakland Gardens on Thursday to help celebrate a national honor.

The school was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education this year.

The federal award is given to schools where students perform at high levels or where significant improvements are being made in student academic achievement.
