A presentation called "Global Rainbow After the Storm," a massive laser rainbow beaming across the sky, will pass over some of the areas hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy over the next few nights.

The seven lasers originate at The Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District and shoot across Brooklyn and toward the Rockaways.

It can be seen for up to 35 miles.

The exhibit is meant to encourage donations to Waves for Water and New York Foundation for the Arts, a pair of organizations providing help to Sandy victims.

Its creator, Yvette Mattern, said the project was not originally intended as a Sandy tribute.

"I started seeing images of the destruction and kind of the sadness in New York, and we decided to bring the project for the kind of victims of Hurricane Sandy," Mattern said. "So it's basically a gift."

The rainbow can be seen from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. through Thursday.
