A Queens man feels he's slipping through the cracks as a he struggles to get back on his feet from Sandy.
One month after Sandy flooded the home Benjamin Lamar Franklin worked his whole life to buy,he is devastated, scared and stranded.
Franklin says FEMA stepped in two weeks after Sandy struck, offering to pay for his stay at a Brooklyn motel until Dec. 1.
Still he says FEMA is overlooking people like him who have homeowners and flood insurance but are still living paycheck to paycheck.
"What do I do," Franklin said. "I'm not going to get any help from that insurance for months. If I don't get help in the interim, I could lose my home."
FEMA representatives say because circumstances are constantly changing for Sandy victims like Franklin they encourage people to appeal or reapply for assistance.
