A Downtown Manhattan parking garage worker died Monday morning after he was crushed by a car at his workplace.
Police say the attendant was in the process of raising an SUV onto a lift in the Icon garage on Barclays Street, when the vehicle rolled off and fell about six feet to the ground.
"At approximately 9 in the morning, units of the FDNY were summoned to this parking garage for a car that had fallen off a lift on top of person. He was treated by FDNY units," said FDNY Chief David Sims.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the accident.
They say the car fell from about 6 feet from the ground.
