Four people were injured Sunday morning when their car slammed into a scaffold in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan.
Fire officials say the incident happened just before 8 a.m. at 161st Street and Broadway.
Two of the victims were seriously hurt, while the other two suffered minor injuries.
"They cut the car in half to get the guys out, the people that, you know, were still in the car and then they took the car. The cops came and they shut the block up," an eyewitness said.
Three of the injured were rushed to Harlem Hospital and the fourth victim was taken to NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center.
By Sunday evening it was unclear what had caused the crash.
