A New York City Police Department officer has been indicted in what prosecutors say was a gruesome plot to kidnap and cook a number of women.
A grand jury handed up the indictment against Officer Gilberto Valle on charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
He could get life in prison if convicted.
He's also charged with illegally accessing the National Crime Information Center database.
Investigators say he was trying gather addresses of potential victims.
Prosecutors say Valle detailed his plans in emails to at least three people.
Valle's attorneys argue he was only sharing fantasies, which he never acted upon.
No women were actually harmed, though the indictment says Valle traveled to Maryland to meet up with a potential victim.
