A funeral was held Monday in Tottenville, Staten Island for a girl and her father who were swept away by flood waters two weeks ago during Sandy.
The service for 13-year-old Angela Dresch and her father, George Dresch, was held at Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
In an emotional tribute, the hearse that carried Angela drove by I.S. 34, the intermediate school she attended.
With their hands on their hearts, classmates bid the teenager farewell and remembered her as an outgoing, fun loving person who brightened the hallways of the school.
"I was thinking about how I'm never going to have another one of the same conversations I had with her every day, how we're never going to see her smiling or laughing with everyone in the hallway," said Marisa Tasca, one of Angela's classmates. "Everything's a wreck without her."
"Angela will be remembered as someone who was involved in everything that went on," said Principal John Boyle of I.S. 34. “She was a very outgoing young lady, she was very popular among the entire student body. She will definitely be missed."
Angela was buried with her father at Resurrection Cemetery on Staten Island. She is survived by her mother.
