NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said Wednesday that it's unlikely a deal to end the league's lockout would get done Thursday.
That's the day the league says a deal needs to be reached in order to play a full 82-game schedule.
Bettman said that the NHL Players' Association rejected the league's latest proposal and has refused to make a counter offer.
If Thursday's deadline passes, events like the All-Star Game and Winter Classic could be in jeopardy.
