Being that New York is one of the bluest states on the map, I wasn't surprised by the results of the NY1/Marist College poll released today. The one finding I did think was encouraging was that the majority of likely voters in New York are enthusiastic about Election Day. Based on the calls, e-mails and tweets I've heard on the show recently, I would've guessed New Yorkers aren't too excited about heading out to the polls. I hear a lot of people saying they are struggling to decided between "the lesser of two evils." I just hope voters in the rest of the country get as pumped up as New Yorkers for November 6th. I know I'm ready to get out and vote.

Four years ago, President Obama defeated Senator John McCain by a margin of 63% to 36% in New York State. Four years later, will New Yorkers vote the same way in a match-up with former Governor Mitt Romney? The findings of a new NY1/Marist poll will be revealed tonight on NY1 News.

Pollsters sampled the opinions of more than 1,000 voters on a variety of issues regarding the upcoming election. Tonight, we are asking you. Do you have a favorable impression of President Obama and Governor Romney? Which candidate will do a better job handling the economy? Are you enthusiastic about casting your ballot in 13 days? Are you voting for the candidate in your political party?

I've already enthusiastically cast my vote. Governor Mitt Romney made it clear that in essence 47 percent of Americans who pay no income tax don't matter. Well I'm one- disabled for many years. John people are not disenfranchised by choice. The economy is improving in-spite of the recession we were in that greeted him on day 1, as well as the relentless obstruction from Congress (most of them) in their effort to make him a 1 term President.

I trust Obama to do a better job with the economy , and unlike Romney he is not making false promises about creating 12 million jobs, when all economist agree that this would be impossible given the depth of the great recession created under the economic stewardship of a republican administration.

Romney needs to be the President for himself so badly. He would extend the tax break for the rich in the name of "creating job" for middle class. So those tax loophole for the rich would last forever . . . For example, Romney says would give tax cut to everyone. I doubt tax cut on somethings like "Capital gain" could benefit middle class mostly. Because most middle class families don't have huge gain as the top 2%.

Winning this election isn't enough for President Obama because he needs to win more seats in both Houses so the bills can pass smoothly.

I am a life-long independent but will be voting again for Obama. I'm not enthusiastic about the election, rather looking forward to it all to be over. The campaign has been too long, and too much money has been wasted. I was hoping one day we'd adopt a more efficient system, like the one in France, where campaigns are only a few months and there's only a general election and a run-off; however, that doesn't seem likely, especially now that the French may be embracing our system (this year's election was the first time they've ever held primaries and it was their most bitter to boot).

I know the economy is bad and things haven't gotten much better but People tend to forget how long the great depression took to get out of & now this is the worst economy since then. On the criticism of the President and the US economy, people seem to forget that President Obama has sought the advice of GE Chairman Jeff Immelt, a Republican as a "Job Czar". Where were his suggestions to the President?

I see no compelling reason to take the candidacy of Mitt Romney seriously with his changing positions which seem to occur on a weekly basis. Former Gov Romney also has a number of advisors from the previous President George W Bush and that to me is total mistake to go back to any of the ideas of his Presidency.

Given the circumstances, President Obama has done an excellent job. He has attempted to compromise with the Congress on making more progress but with characters like Sen. Mitch McConnell some of his initiatives have not progressed.

Just for the record....I do not watch idiot TV shows like Dancing With The Stars or MSNBC...I read. The people in Manhattan (most are transplants anyway that just like to think of themselves as New Yorkers) just like to think of themselves as politically correct. They may be politically correct...but they are common sense imbeciles. Most just want the free handouts, and of course the wonderful Obamacare. If we let Obama in for another 4 years ...this country is finished.
