New York City's detectives union wants to ensure a fair and balanced investigation into this month's shooting death of Noel Polanco, an unarmed National Guardsman, on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens.
Sources say the union's top brass has met with Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, to make sure witnesses to the shooting of Polanco are telling the truth.
Polanco's family members met with Brown last week.
On October 4, Polanco was pulled over for weaving in and out of traffic on the parkway and shot once in the abdomen by an Emergency Services Unit officer.
Detective Hassan Hamdy, seen above, who fired the fatal shot, says Polanco did not put his hands up when ordered.
A passenger in the car disputes that claim.
