A Bronx teacher is barred from teaching at city schools after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a 17-year-old student.
According to a report by the special schools investigator, Raemon Matthews took explicit photographs of a girl in a locked classroom at the Samuel Gompers Career and Technical Education High School in Mott Haven.
He also was accused of inappropriately touching the girl in 2009.
The report said Matthews convinced the girl to pose for photos by telling her she needed a portfolio for college.
The Department of Education says Matthews was reassigned during the 2010-11 school year due to an investigation.
He pleaded guilty to sex abuse earlier this year.
His attorney said the plea satisfied all sides.
