Barclays Center officials are explaining their security methods after the New York Post reported that different ones were used at different concerts.
The Post reported Saturday that walk-through metal detectors were used during the Jay-Z concerts that opened the arena, while hand-held detectors were used during the recent Barbra Streisand shows.
General Manager David Anderson says the arena spent the first two weeks since its opening testing different security methods.
He says the walk-through devices caused long lines, so the arena switched to hand-held for the Streisand concerts and found that they moved crowds inside faster.
Anderson says Barclays will continue to use the hand-held detectors for the foreseeable future.
The Brooklyn Nets play their first pre-season game at the arena on Monday.
