Taking the SAT is a rite of passage for many high schoolers but some Queens students were mistakenly turned away because of confusion over their IDs.

A parent of a 17-year old said his daughter was not allowed to take the test at Grover Cleveland High School Saturday because her school ID had no date of birth.

The Education Testing Service confirmed that a number of students were wrongly turned away due to a "misinterpretation" of SAT test center policy.

A spokesman said he doesn't believe test takers need to show a date of birth when they check in.

It's not clear how many students were affected.

In a statement, ETS said it regretted any inconvenience.

ETS said it's working to schedule a makeup exam and will give the students the new test date as soon as possible.
