The mother of Amadou Diallo said she's shocked a police officer involved in her son's death will be allowed to carry a gun again.

According to the officer's union, the NYPD reinstated the firearm rights of Officer Kenneth Boss after a departmental review.

Boss and three other officers shot the unarmed African immigrant 41 times in the vestibule of his apartment building in 1999.

The officers were acquitted of second-degree murder charges because they successfully argued they thought Diallo was about to pull out a gun.

In the years since the acquittal, Boss has fought in court to get his right to carry reinstated.

Kadiatou Diallo told NY1 that "It is opening my wound again. It is like killing my son again."
