Jurors in the court-martial of Army Sergeant Adam Holcomb found him guilty Monday of assault and mistreatment of Manhattan native Private Danny Chen, but he was not found responsible for the private's suicide.

After two hours of deliberation, the jurors also found Holcomb, seen above right, not guilty of negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and hazing in relation to the 19-year-old soldier's death.

The sergeant faces 2.5 years in prison when he is sentenced.

Prosecutors argued Holcomb dragged Chen over rocks while using racially charged language, and the abuse led to Chen's suicide back on October 3.

Chen's commanding officer testified earlier the private was supposed to be transferred on October 4, which turned out to the day after the soldier shot himself.

Seven others are also charged in Chen's death.
