21-Year-Old Killed In Single-Car Accident On Staten Island

A tragic accident claimed the life of a 21-year-old from New Springville early Saturday morning.

Police say Christina Battimelli was heading westbound on College Avenue at approximately 2:25 a.m. when her car struck a pole at the corner of College Avenue and Carolina Place in Westerleigh.

She was unresponsive when rescue crews go to the scene and was later pronounced dead at Richmond University Medical Center.

No criminality is suspected and no other cars or people are believed to be involved.
