The New York City Police Department announced Thursday the arrest of a Manhattan man in connection with a cold case killing 25 years ago.
Edwin Alcaide, a registered sex offender, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Lissette Torres.
On New Year’s Eve of 1986, Torres called her mother to say she would join the family for a planned gathering.
That was the last time they ever heard from her.
She was found stabbed to death the next morning.
Police say DNA evidence linked Alcaide to her murder.
