NY1 VIDEO: Long before a pedestrian plaza brought beach chairs to 42nd Street, there was a plan in the works to trade traffic for a trolley. In June of 1994, the idea of a 42nd Street trolley line was getting serious consideration as a way to ease congestion, pollution and noise in the area. NY1's Heather Cabot filed the following report in June of 1994.
