NY1 VIDEO: For four days in March 2003, the music of the Great White Way was silenced as Broadway musicians walked off the job, after talks with producers broke down over disagreements about minimum orchestra size and concerns that electronic music could be substituted instead. NY1's Donna Karger filed this report on March 11, 2003 about the deal that gave both sides and theatergoers something to sing about.

NY1 Follow-Up: While the musicians' 2003 walkout was the first strike on Broadway in nearly three decades, a stagehands' strike would shut the Great White Way down less than five years later for 19 days.
