NY1 VIDEO: As NY1 News revisits its 20-year history, the station looks back at reporter Mike Gilliam's March 1, 1994 story on a gunman who opened fire on a van carrying yeshiva students onto the Brooklyn Bridge.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: A Lebanese immigrant named Rashid Baz would be arrested the next day. Prosecutors would argue that he was acting in retaliation for the massacre at the mosque - and Baz would be convicted of murder and sentenced to 141 years in prison. A 16-year-old boy, Ari Halberstam, died of his injuries days after the shooting. The other wounded students survived. One is Nachum Sasonkin. He was shot in the head and given little chance of survival. But today, he's a married father of five, living in Brooklyn and working at a supermarket. However, that life has not been without its challenges - including a devastating illness that struck their youngest son Moshe when he was just a baby, causing him to lose his hands and his feet.
