Officials at the Department of Education said Friday that Taleek Brooks, a school aide arrested for allegedly producing child pornography, was often a chaperone on school-sponsored trips.
Education officials say there were other chaperones with Brooks, including the principal.
DOE officials also said Brooks was an adviser to a dance group that operated at PS 243 in Brooklyn, and it appears he occasionally took group members on non-school-sponsored trips to the movies.
Brooks was arrested on Monday after investigators say they uncovered videos of him assaulting two children in a school.
The videos came from a computer seized earlier this month when he was first arrested.
DOE officials said Brooks was suspended without pay since his first arrest.
He is being held without bail.
