One Staten Island school honored the borough's veterans ahead of Veterans Day.

More than 100 former service members of all ages came to Saint Adalbert's School for a breakfast and assembly on Thursday.

The Elm Park school has held the touching event for the past decade.

Veterans say it gives them a chance to reflect on their lives and pass on the lessons they've learned.

"It's all about learning history and so they appreciate where the country has been. There's all too much lost in the schools these days, but these kids are being educated properly as to the military history of the country," said Ted Cohen, who’s retired from the U.S. Air Force.

"My grandfather was a veteran and he doesn't like to talk about it, but I like talking to the other people about it and seeing what their experience was—different from my grandfather's," said seventh grader Clement Marott.

The event raised more than $1,000 for Brendan Marrocco, the Staten Islander who lost all four limbs while serving in Iraq.

Marrocco's father was on hand to receive the donation.
