Prosecutors in the trial of John Haggerty tried to show the jury what happened to the money they say the defendant stole from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Haggerty is accused of stealing more than $1 million from the mayor's last re-election campaign.

The money was supposed to go to a ballot security operation on Election Day 2009.

On Tuesday, prosecutors claimed most of it instead went to pay for a house for Haggerty's late father.

An investigator from the district attorney's office testified that less than $32,000 were actually spent on Election Day expenses.

The mayor's campaign lawyer, Ken Gross, also took the stand.

On Wednesday, some of the purported poll watchers who were supposedly paid by Haggerty may be called to testify.
