A brewery, touted as being the world's smallest, officially opened Wednesday in Brooklyn.

Borough president Marty Markowitz was on hand for the "tiny" ribbon cutting ceremony at the Coney Island Brewing Company.

Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records who were also there checking out the micro-brewery and its process of producing lager one gallon at a time.

Owners say their recipes are inspired by the local artistic and gastronomical landscape, with varieties such as a Pumpernickel Bagel Porter, a Red, White and Blue Hefeweizen and a Caramel Apple Ale.

"The history of Coney Island from the 1800s to the present, it's America's playground so we feel we fit right in with that spirit, that innovation, that fun, that sense of whimsy," said Coney Island Brewing Company Owner Jeremy Cowan.

"Coney Island is going through an unbelievable renaissance as America's playground and to have Coney Island Brewery, America's smallest brewery right here, making great beer, I gotta tell you something, if this beer is anything like the characters that live and visit Coney Island, this is gonna be big time, big time," said Markowitz.

The beers will be sold at the brewery, located next to the Coney Island Circus Sideshow and Museum.
