Two Staten Island men accused in the shooting death of DJ Megatron pleaded not guilty Thursday.

William Williams, 21, seen above, and Richard Cromwell, 20, were arrested Wednesday and arraigned Thursday on charges including murder and robbery.

Prosecutors say on March 27 the two men out to rob DJ Megatron, whose real name was Corey McGriff, near the victim's Clifton home.

They say Williams fired the shot that killed him, then Cromwell stole the watch McGriff was wearing.

Sources told NY1 that McGriff was walking to buy marijuana when the shooting took place.

They also said policemen later found McGriff's four-year-old son home alone, asleep.

"It's an absolute tragedy that Mr. McGriff, a rising star here from Staten Island, had his life ended so tragically," said Mario Gallucci, Williams' attorney. "I've just been retained by the family early this morning. We already have an investigator out doing our own investigation, so at this early point I would just urge the public not to rush to judgement."

McGriff, a popular fixture on HOT 97 who made appearances on BET's "106 and Park," was laid to rest Tuesday.

Both defendants are being held without bail and are due back in court on April 19.
