Family, friends, and fellow officers came together on Long Island Thursday to bid farewell to a member of the department killed in the line of duty.

They gathered in East Islip to say good bye to Officer Alain Schaberger.

Schaberger, who joined the force in 2001, was killed trying to arrest a suspect in a domestic dispute case last Sunday.

George Villanueva is accused of pushing Schaberger off a front staircase while resisting arrest.

Villanueva is being charged with murder and assault.

Officer Schaberger will be laid to rest Friday morning.
