Several business owners in Brooklyn are assessing the damage after a three-alarm fire ripped through a row of stores along Flatbush Avenue early Sunday morning.

The fire gutted seven buildings in Flatlands, including a bagel shop, a supermarket, a Chinese restaurant and a Chase bank.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames within a few hours.

There were no reports of any injuries.

"There was a lot of smoke, like smoke just filled the whole sky," said one witness.

Police officials at the scene tell NY1 it appears the fire started in the Chinese restaurant.

A nearby hardware store owner says his business is okay for the most part, but still has a lot of cleaning up to do.

"When we got off the highway, the Bell Parkway, all we seen was fire engines and a ton of smoke when we got here you couldn't see the block that's how much smoke was here it was really, really bad," said business owner Alan Buttrico.

"There was a lot of smoke like smoke just filled the whole sky."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Business owners will have to wait until at least Monday before they can go back inside their stores.
