Living in the city, you're bound to hear police sirens, but soon you may feel them too.

The New York Police Department says some patrol cars have been fitted with a device called "the Rumbler," which gives off a low-frequency sound wave that gives off a vibration that can be felt up to 200 feet away.

Drivers can feel the vibrations even with closed windows and a blasting stereo. Police say the vibrations will get cars or pedestrians to move out of the way during emergency runs.

NYPD officials say 25 rumblers were installed last week on cars that patrol from lower Manhattan to Midtown.

More than 100 are being added Monday.
