Entertainer Ed McMahon has died at age 86, his publicist confirmed Tuesday.
The longtime Johnny Carson sidekick passed away peacefully at Ronald Reagan/UCLA Medical Center shortly after midnight.
McMahon became famous for his "Here's Johnny" introduction on NBC's "The Tonight Show," which filmed in New York City until 1972.
McMahon also hosted a variety of shows including "Star Search" and "TV's Bloopers And Practical Jokes" and had a long career as an actor, comedian and game show host.
He's also well known as the longtime pitchman for Publisher's Clearinghouse sweepstakes.
While a cause of death was not given, his publicist said McMahon had a "multitude of health problems the last few months."
