The MTA gets set to update its aging subway fleet with a massive order of up to 1,600 new cars — some made here in New York.

A prototype was on display last year at the 34th Street Hudson Yards station.

The $1.4 billion dollar order includes cars with wider doors designed to cut delays.

Seventy-five will be put into service on the Staten Island Railway. Japanese manufacturing giant Kawasaki — which has a railcar manufacturing factory in Yonkers — will assemble some of the subway cars at its Westchester County plant.

Others will be assembled in Nebraska. The MTA hopes to begin rolling out the new cars in 2020.
