Yankees' legend Derek Jeter has reportedly expressed interest in buying the Miami Marlins.

According to a Fox Business Network report, Jeter is one of at least three possible bidders for the National League franchise.

Former Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate, Jeb Bush, is also bidding for the team and joining up with Citigroup to fund a potential purchase, according to the report.

Those involved in the bidding process have reportedly said the franchise's price tag could be anywhere from $800 million to $1.6 billion.

In an interview with CNBC last May, Jeter expressed a desire to own a Major League club one day.

The former Yankees' captain lives in Tampa Bay, Florida, with his wife Hannah Davis.

The Marlins started playing in 1993, and have made the postseason twice in their history, winning the World Series in 1997 and 2003.

The 2003 Marlins team beat Jeter and the Yankees in that World Series in six games.
